Thinking of coming back

I havent played for about a year and a half, and even then only played for about 2 years prior (I did but alot of ships as I do love star trek (did buy the big legendary bundle in march 2020) I used to play a science ship with black holes and space magic etc.

Is there anything major ive missed in this year and half ? Is it worth coming back ? I never did join a big fleet so never got any of the fleet modules etc.
