31,536,000 seconds sober (1 year)

One year ago I lye shaking in my bed knowing this was the worst I’ve ever had been in withdrawals. Throwing up blood, hallucinations and DTs. I finally call a detox and they tell me to immediately to head to the hospital. I get there via ambulance spend 2 days medically detoxing then 4 at the detox facility. I had a resting heart rate of 145 on the way to the er. I would drink 10-12 boots of vodka a day!! In detox I was given an AA schedule and a few guys recommended one to go to. I went the same day I was released from detox, and it’s slowly changed my life. I’m still working on my mental health but finally stopping drinking has made it so much better! I’m down from 220lbs to 175lbs!

I been reading this sub for the last 3 years and when I would see someone post saying they had a year I’d say to myself how can they do it? But now here I am.

To anyone still struggling or to people who are just starting sobriety, I believe you can do it. If I can do it then you can do it as well.

Im excited to stay sober and to keep living it one day at a time. IWNDWYT!!!
