I could use words of wisdom or encouragement!
Or anything really. This next week I'm headed to Deadwood, South Dakota with my husband and two other couples. I think this is our 9th year going. Since this is a kid-free time drinks normally start early in the day and tend to go allllll day. I'm going to be honest, part of me thinks it won't be a big deal if I do have some drinks while I'm on vacation, as long as I don't bring those habits back to home once again. The other part of me knows that's a slippery slope and it'd be best to avoid the booze all together. I was a three months sober last year and a vacation to FL ruined that for me. I was just reading my notes I wrote in my "I am Sober" app from last year, and it's actually pretty interesting to be able to see the downfall occur. I'm 6 months sober now and I don't want to ruin it. I haven't wanted to drink these past months - I feel great. Will I remember that on vacation though? Will people be drinking and pressuring me? Can I seriously do this or should I just give up? I'm so excited to get away and have some fun but this is such a huge worry on my mind.
Thanks for reading if you've made it this far, it helps to let my brain word-vomit every now and then. <3
