HBA card for R510 and Unraid or TrueNAS?

Hi, I'm trying to figure out what my best storage solution would be. I have 4x4tb Ironwolf pro disks that I will be using just as data backup for other machines and their VM's. I will also be using the R510 to store 3x14tb raw shucked drives with plex media. I won't be using any applications with either unraid or turenas just straight up 2 pools and sharing both on the network. What would your suggestions be, TrueNAS or UNRAID? Also, has anyone ran into issues using shucked drives with Dell backplanes?

The R510 currently has a H700 and from what I understand, I can't use this with either OS. I have a H330 in the R730 so could swap this is and flash to IT mode?

I would then have the H700 in the R730 which currently runs Proxmox. All disks are currently in RAID0 but I read this messes with ZFS, is that right? Looking like I'll have to pick up another HBA card, regardless.
