Dashcam parking mode: Use OBD kit or Fuse hardwire kit - Legacy 2025

Howdy folks,

I'm going through some domestic violence, and am preparing for the spouse tampering with my car, as she's already been tampering with my private room.

I have a 5 channel dash cam from IIWEY ([N9 model](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H6LDN2T8)). They sell a fuse [hardwire kit](https://www.amazon.com/IIWEY-Dashboard-Camera-Charger-Adapter/dp/B0DHJNRPB9) AND a [OBD version](https://www.amazon.com/IIWEY-Charger-Parking-Low-Voltage-Protection/dp/B0H416DQ3F) to have the dashcam operate in parking mode while the car is off.

I prefer the OBD kit because the install seems a LOT easier. But for the safety of my car battery (2025 Legacy), does it make a difference?

The spouse also has a master key. I have a master and a valet. I can ask the dealer to disable her master if the state courts can't get the key back for me.
