I never thought I would say goodbye to Subaru. It is a sad day.
I'll start off by saying that I am the classic Subaru Fanboy and this is a small rant. I currently have three in my driveway and between my wife and I we have owned 7. All I talk about is Subaru. All my car friends know that I do not shut up about them. I will never put my wife in another vehicle besides a Forester and I tell everyone I know to buy one for their wife or daughter as I believe it is the safest vehicle on the road. A Forester saved my father's life when he was hit by a drunk driver. My best friend bought a 2020 STI two weeks after I got my Forester for my wife. He is now the same as me and you can't get him to stop.
This year was interesting with my relationship with Subaru. I lost the opportunity of my dream of driving a brand new STI with an ej off the lot. It straight died as I was waiting for the unveil of the next gen STI. I accepted it and lived with the fact that the electric one will be able to take any corner and would be a blast to drive. I can wait for it.
This is the killer for me and why I am turning my back to them. That 2020 Forester I bought my wife is melting. Yes, melting. I can't describe it any better. See this link if you want to get the picture. [https://imgur.com/a/oM9CCrK](https://imgur.com/a/oM9CCrK) I initially brought it up to the local dealer in January. They said they would contact Subaru of America. It took two months to hear back from them. I got a call Saturday at 4 stating that a Subaru rep will be in Monday morning and if we can get there. That was such short notice but we were able to get it there by tweaking our schedule. My wife got there and was not able to talk to the rep about what was going on. They are apparently speculating that it is an outside source causing the melting. Again we have no idea what is going on with their decisions as we were not able to talk to the rep. All I know is that my new car is melting. It left us feeling not heard and a bad taste. I called Subaru of America and let them be aware of the situation. They apparently are going to get in touch with the service manager but as of a week, no contact yet.
So here I am with a melting 2 year old car and they are doing nothing about it. I am a level headed person that ives by the mentality of "kill them with kindness." My dealership is going to hate me. I live 2 miles away from them. I am going to walk in every Saturday and say I am the guy with the melting Forester. Get ready to see this smile walk through the door every morning as you unlock the doors.
We all know what happened with the Corrolla this week. I am currently 4th in line for a Circuit Edition at my local Toyota dealership for one. I am patient and will wait my turn. Good bye Subaru, I thought you lived for the customer, but I do not feel that way currently. You killed my dreams but will forever be in my heart.
P.S. My wife still loves her Forester Sport
