Books about United States activism?
I am looking for a book chronicling and analyzing activist movements throughout US history. Ideally it would discuss or review different strategies and their effectiveness, successes and failures. In what circumstances does activism work well, and by what means? When is this not the case? What has the overall influence of different kinds of activism been on the development of US political economy?
For reference: I am a student at university and it seems our many activist causes on campus lack coherent strategy. I want to help, but myself lack any useful contribution.
Any book related to or approaching any of the questions I have asked here would be very helpful. Thank you!
