3YR Player, Uncommon advice: applies to all
Advice you may not find elsewhere:
**I Focus on the settings.**
Brief Backstory: Playing 3 years, 2.7k Aram games played. An avid follower of LCK specifically and interested LCS Teams. 5 years in USMC, Intel. LoL is first MOBA, far from the first game (I'm 28 with 2 bros so started on N64).
PC has always been a bottleneck. Windows 7, 10 years old, dual-core 8GB RAM, NVidia 6800s in SLI, for the tech guys
MEAT & POTATOES:
Tips * If you have WINDOWS 7 and play League on it, **Ensure you set the lolclient.exe to (LOW) priority and LeagueofLegends.exe to (ABOVE) Normal Priority ONLY.**
This MAY work on other editions of windows, you are welcome to try and let me know. I have read on forums that this too is the case but as I have not done it I cannot vouch for it.
Do not adjust any other Priority settings here. Seriously. You may choose to run the program in compatibility mode for windows 7 via the properties but not necessary.
Tip * IF possible, watch VODs, Streaming and MOST importantly, when you can, **watch them full screen on the same monitor you would play on.**
Tip * Set **Z, X, C, V** to champions **1, 2, 3, 4** Respectively; for finding teammates quick. Unless you must put your taunts, joke and others here. Who am I anyway, right? :)
Tip * Learn to Play on the Default Controls as much as you can for abilities and Summoner spells and set **attack move click** to your "A" key.
Closing: Play ARAM like me and get most of the champs for free. only have like 12 left because I'm frugal and I had to get rune pages and stuff for free too so you can see where the 2.7 games came from.
If you need more help pm me with your questions and we can get your machine up and running to a serviceable level. I just tweaked some minor settings and im getting steady frame rates above 100 FPS.
Your settings for the game inside and out are just as important if not more so than the game, without them adjusted you may not be able to play at all or suffer through years of horrible screens while loving a game you continue to support watch and play.
Since this is to foster discussion as a req. if you have other settings that others in general would, number 1 WANT and number 2 APPLY to the majority of fresher players then Lets Roll.
I wish someone told me these things 3 years ago before I started and that is why I am here. Pick my brain, start a conversation. The FPS fix from changing the Priorites as mentioned are giving me new life to play Ranked and since I can see for once **GAME ON**

edit1. I failed to mention in the priority settings that are mentioned in tip #1; these priority settings will revert upon rebooting your computer. you must install a 3rd party application to save the priority settings for the lolclient.exe and leagueoflegends.exe to ensure the setting persists through Restarting. I can provide a link if anyone needs but dont tend to advertise other companies free-ware, or just google it
