Chicago Bans Surfing (again)

Just in the past few days the Chicago Park District has arbitrarily decided to re-impose a total ban on surfing at all Chicago beaches because it's "unsafe". I'm looking for advice or someone to put me in touch with an advocacy group or public figures or anything at this point to try and get this overturned. We don't get great waves by ocean standards and there's not a whole lot of us but it's still a ton of fun with a great community and it's a shame they'd make such a poorly informed, damaging decision without warning. Feel free to DM me with suggestions (I've been stonewalled by the park district and the Surfrider Foundation so far) or pretend to be a Chicagoan and spam public officials until they decide it's not worth the hassle. Worst case scenario I'll be the next one arrested for surfing in this city and Kelly Slater can bail me out of Cook County Jail 🤙
