sage’s and kristina’s move made sense given what they knew.

They thought both Rizo and Savannah were 100% safe because Rizo’s idol was expiring and would definitely be played. That would mean their only choices were Soph or Steven. Soph isn’t a contender to win and Steven is. So they picked Steven. Very reasonable decision.

Probably they also figured there would be at least a chance of turning Soph next time, since she already signaled she knows she’s 3rd place if she goes to Final Tribal with Rizo and Savannah. And without an idol, Rizo would be vulnerable next time even if Savannah wind immunity again.

Not an amazing play, but possibly the best available play given the information they had.
