Season Metaphors
So, yesterday a thread took off that called Cydney the best player of the 30s, and a lot of the comments focused on how Aubry/Cydney basically had no chance in the Final 3, and that Michele or Tai come out on top in any of the common F3 mashups. Anyway, this conversation kinda reminded me of how one of the episodes of the season was called “The Jocks vs. The Pretty People” and how the whole season was kind of a metaphor for high school. You have the tribe of nerds, none of which probably have the social game necessary to win. You have the jocks like Scot/Jason who spend the season “bullying” or picking on other players, and then you have the populars who find themselves kind of falling into positions of power/influence throughout the season (Michele/Tai + Julia when she’s trying to play the middle).
Anyway it got me thinking, what other seasons do you think have this very coherent story/theme/metaphor that kind of describes the season? The only other one that immediately comes to mind is South Pacific as the “cult” season with Ozzy/Coach as cult leaders, and Sophie as the skeptic.
