Expectations for lifting while cutting?

Hi guys, with hiking season coming up, I decided to cut a bit of weight to make my time on the trails a bit easier this summer. I just finished up a 12-week program of doing 3 day per week PPL and recently moved to an upper/lower split keeping the same 3 day schedule.

This week was my first full week of cutting, and my 3rd week on this program. Yesterday, for the first time since I started, I was unable to even match my performance from last session on 2 different exercises, so I was wondering if it was just a bad lifting day or if it was because I'm cutting, and therefor losing some muscle. Initially, my plan was to stick with this program for 9 more weeks for 12 total and then start working on endurance exercises using more reps and supersets, but given how shit yesterday was, I'm wondering if I should just skip to that kind of approach now, if building more strength is going to be hard while cutting..

I guess my question is two-fold. How much should I expect cutting weight to hurt my performance, do you guys just permanently deload when losing weight? Second, is it better to stick with a program designed to build strength while losing weight, or is it better to work on something more endurance related?
