Synology NAS - anyone used their own security code/hardware?

Hello, I got the Synology NAS DS223 to experience what Synology is like. I'm hoping to use this primarily for security cameras and storage. I'm curious if others have used the AI Surveillance Station software. Also, if others have tried to implement their own solution/AI in conjunction with their NAS, and how that works if so?
