NFSv4 is doing my head in.

We recently bought a DS415play and I am trying to (auto)mount (at startup) NFS directories that are on the DS on my linux mint laptop.

The mounting works but I can't get access because I lack permission.

Kerberos is just too difficult at the moment so I am not using that.

On of the problems it seems is the uid and gid not matching. The funny thing is is that the uid that is exported is one I can't find back on the DS. I have found the uid of all users and admin, but that uid is missing from the users.

One of the fixes I have seen is to match up uid of the user (me) on the DS and the uid of my laptop. But which one am I supposed to match up? The exported one, my user on the DS.

Anybody have any idea how to fix this? Is there a fix.

edit: okay this is even weirder. I can open the mounted share as administrator and then I have full access. But I can't change permissions.
