is it safe to swap 3 lead bi-color LED for a 2 lead one?
I just got the full kit for this module in the mail: https://www.antumbra.eu/modules/path/bom/v1-1 .
It came with six through hole bi-color LEDS. Looking at the BOM and PCB, all of the LEDS should have three leads but only five of them do, the sixth one only has two leads. It's still a bi-color LED(I verified using a multimeter).
From what I can see on the PCB(download the build doc pdf and zoom in a bit) there doesn't seem to be any resistors connected to the middle cathodes so I'm thinking perhaps it's still safe to use the 2-lead LED? I've contacted the shop about this, but I'm hoping to get a quick answer here so that I can start soldering.
