Controversial take on no change friday
Friday late afternoon is my preferred time to apply potentially disruptive changes.
Most users will have left, and I'd rather do a bit of overtime or take care a few weekend tickets from the few users working than have 20 c-suites flood the phones on a Wednesday morning.
Edit since some people possibly missed the point:
I do overtime on Friday and possibly over the weekend, but I get compensation time that I can spend for additional holidays.
And the implication is not to involve additional people, I'm referring to changes that I make and the I fix or roll back myself or with the involvement of vendor support, which I also have available on weekends, and personnel who is already on shift (or has agreed to work with overtime with me and get compensation time the week after).
