Share your funny and crazy stories thread

Hey /r/sysadmin

I was browsing through some posts earlier and it reminded me of an urban legend I either heard about or read about in a blog post (this was easily 15+ years ago so don't recall fully) that was just epic. So, share your stories, your urban legends, your trials and tribulations of funny stories!

So, here is one of my favorite legends. It is all centered around a person named Adrian Pacheo. They got hired like any other employee does, and HR manually did the data entry of them when they were hired and it kicked off the automation data flow of provisioning. The flow was like so:

HR enters data > hooks/events sent to processor script > processor script creates LDAP data > LDAP is source of truth for all infra, services, accounts, and so forth.

Their naming convention was first letter of first name first five letters of last name. So, Adrian's new user account got provisioned to all systems and it automagically broke all \*nix boxes, web services, and anything that integrated to them, because their username was generate as \`apache\`

I love this story and hope it is true. This totally makes sense and is believable since I have had jobs that did this very exact same thing, even the same naming convention. Their user account owned all Apache instances

Feel free to share some stories and maybe we can have a fun thread!
