Hyper-V DR Licensing with Linux guest

It’s my understanding that if I’m setting up a disaster recovery Hyper-V replica I do not need to license it until I switch my production VMs over to it in a disaster, at which point I would transfer my license over from production. My question is, with this only pertain to windows VM’s? That is, would it be possible to run a Linux guest on the DR replica without running afoul of Microsoft licensing?
