We are hiring an HPC Systems Administrator and a Senior Storage Systems Administrator at the Advanced Computer Facility building of the [Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre](http://www.epcc.ed.ac.uk/) of the [University of Edinburgh](http://www.ed.ac.uk)

We administer a number of national services including the [ARCHER](http://www.archer.ac.uk/about-archer/) supercomputer and the [UK Research Data Facility](https://www.epcc.ed.ac.uk/facilities/uk-research-data-facility) storage service.

**Essential**

* Graduate level education * At least one year’s knowledge and experience of Linux or Unix-based computing systems that includes a minimum of six month’s practical experience in installation, configuration and systems administration

Basic knowledge of:

* Network design principles and network management * Computer and network security

**Desirable**

* Demonstrate competence developing service monitoring tools using appropriate scripting or programming languages (e.g., Unix shell, C/C++, Perl, python) * Knowledge of high-capacity storage systems

The role is grade UE06 and attracts an annual salary of £26,829 to £31,076 per annum for 35 hours each week
