Distance between unrelated points

I have two unrelated datasets mapped onto a map as separate layers- county centroids and facility locations. They are both spatial fields created using MAKEPOINT and their respective Latitude+Longitude values.

When I try to use the DISTANCE function to calculate the distance between a selected location and county centroids, it brings in a COLLECT for the facility location. The end result is an error that says “unknown function distance called”.

Is what I’m trying to do impossible without related the tables some how? I don’t feel like tracking down FIPS codes for both tables and linking them that way.
