Is tarisland really a MMO?

I missed a lot the good exploration aspects of mmorpgs. We don't explore maps, we don't kill mobs, there are no true equipment's options (not saying the fact that we don't change our outfits), and we don't even choose skills!

I felt like Tarisland is way more similar to Dauntless/Monster hunter world than a actual mmorpg.
