I've never had a tattoo before. Strong urge to get one. Need advice.
Hi,
I have never had a tattoo before. I use to be the type of person that would say I would never get a tattoo, and I did not understand the point of it.
But now I am at a huge change in my life, a transition. I lived in Portland Oregon my whole life ( a place where tons of people have tattoos) to a small town, Klamath Falls, OR. And man, I just have this burning urge to get a tattoo! I don't know where it's coming from. I think if it's an identity thing. Klamath Falls is a small town and took a lot of strength for me to move here, with my husband. The housing is cheaper here than Portland, that was a big reason for the move.
Portland is very green, and a variety of stores everywhere. Klamath is dryer, not as green, and a lot less stores, limited options. I'm okay with this life change, because we can afford our lifestyle better. But I was so scared of this change, and I'm in the midst of it now. I've been in this small town for 4 months. The population is about 35,000 people.
And I don't know what is, if it's the universe or what, but something is screaming at me to get a tattoo to help deal with this change. Its like I cannot completely accept this life change, and I feel the urge to go through something (like the pain of a tattoo) to help push me towards transitioning to this change. I have never ever felt anything like this in my life. I don't know if it's because all my family and friends live in the Portland area, and I don't know anyone down here or what.
I would like to get a tattoo of either a small delicate rose, which would represent my roots, that I come from the city of roses (Portland, cause roses grown there a lot). Or I'm thinking of getting a tattoo of an evergreen tree, to represent that is I ever move out of Oregon I will always be a Pacific Northwest girl.
*I need help! I need to know how bad a tattoo hurts. Where is the easiest spots on the body to take a tattoo? Has anyone ever experienced this weird urge to get a tattoo out of nowhere? I'm able to take shots in the arm just fine, I have had cats all my life and been scratched by them countless times. I'm a strong woman, I'm just struggling a bit with being a city girl moving to this small town. But I know this is a good change for our finances. So the tattoo is very personal to me and where I come from.
