Big ring, bad position

When I was 16 I made myself a tattoo on my leg. Last year I was tired of it, and covered with this big black line. I now regret this decision so much. The tattoo is badly localised, and simply ugly, in that position. I arrived to the point that I am not wearing shorts anymore. Please help me with some idea. I have no style for these things, nor good ideas. I can tattoo something else under it, or continue the black tattoo, maybe not geometrically but abstractly down to the ankle... Any advice is welcome, thanks!!
