Question about being a sole proprietor with no LLC and obtaining an EIN.

I’m aware I don’t need an EIN in my situation, however, as a photographer, a client is asking me to fill out a W-9 for a few shoots we’ve done together. What negative impacts if any is this going to have on my “business”? Is just getting a EIN a simple way to not use my SSN with no impacts/hassle with the IRS? Thanks.
