Simpson & Vail's Literary Tea - let's talk about Dostoevsky
To me...Dostoevsky will always be associated with weak Beef Tea and a Crust of Black Bread.....
This is the only Literary Tea from S&V that is not included in the sample collection so I bought a small tin plus I am fond of Russian literature....
This is a pretty good blend - it's got some Bergamot in there for seasoning (I have a mental image of Salt Bae making his way thru the tea curing room, lol) but is a lite cup for such a heavy writer.
So I started thinking about this Literary Collection that S&V has done, overall....and I think they could really build on this. Russian classics alone would be a whole thing....
Bulgakov - make it dark and smoky with some warming spices and heck, toss in a few berries for ol' Sharik
Dostoevsky - definitely not something bright and light! I need psychologically crushing and bitter with a redemptive note at the end. Lol....I see a lot of Russian Caravan in use here, maybe toss in some chicory
Solzhenitsyn - here I would add the citrus notes but otherwise, make it stark- we're talking about survival, people!!
Sorokin - make sure it's iced
I mean....we could go on! What would you blend?
