Monitor suddenly stopped working properly

I've been using my Dell monitor for a couple years now and I haven't had any issues. However when I tried starting it today, the monitor (my primary one) only displayed a black screen.

Turning my primary monitor off and using my secondary monitor allowed me to get in and do a clean install of display driver for both graphics card and monitor. I've also tried changing the resolution and refresh rate, and checking the displayport connection to no avail.

I've discovered my primary monitor works fine if I use the duplicate display option. But attempting to use it as extended or the only display results in my primary monitor going black.

Any ideas on what else I can do to troubleshoot?
