SD card showing corrupted photos only on one device

I’m having a problem with reading an SD cards from my camera on my laptop.

The photos are appearing corrupted, with either the coloured all distorted, lines through the images or grey blocks.

My issue is that when I plug the same memory card and same card reader into my partners laptop or into our Samsung tablet, or put the sd card back in the camera… there’s no issue at all with the photos.

On my laptop I’ve tried 2 different card readers, multiple SD cards, driver updated and now I’ve reset windows on the machine with no avail.

I couldn’t seem to find anyone who has had a similar issue, but I’m starting to think it might be an actual hardware issue with the USB controller?

Laptop is an ASUS tuf15 with i7, 3070, usb4
