After playing some controller games on steam mGBA (emulator) wont detect Xbox one controller inputs expect for the left and right triggers

Played some dark souls 3 with the same wireless controller i use for emulation, though i still use it wired if that makes a difference? Anyways i went to launch a game of mGBA and played on it on keyboard and mouse for a bit then went to connect my controller and the only buttons that work are the back trigger buttons. The emulator and rom always work normally as ive played it a few hours before DS3
