Trying to use aDell Inspiron circa 2017 for emulation, etc. But, it beeps LOUDLY 5 times until it finishes booting. (CMOS?) Curious about BIOS settings with Linux.

I don't remember why, but I shelved this thing for a number of years. I had Manjaro (Arch based Linux) installed on it. Instead of updating, I decided to do a fresh install. of Manjaro. That didn't solve the problem, though.

After a quick Google, I decided to just buy a new CMOS battery, because apparently, is a CMOS battery fault. It has had this beeping problem right along. Every time I pull it out for something. Also, it doesn't like to boot while plugged in. Only on battery.

Could a new CMOS also fix the no boot while plugged in issue?

Also, I vaguely remembered having to change something in the BIOS to get Linux working. I can't remember what it was. What settings should I look out for if I reset the BIOS to default?
