Found USB drive filled with music and temp files of music. How do I change the temp files to be the music they are supposed to be?

Not sure if this is the right subreddit, but I thought I might as well try anyway.

So I obtained a USB Drive that belonged to my grandfather. On it has music sorted by artist, album, and song to boot. He had a wide variety of tastes from Blue Oyster, to Nine-Inch Nails, to Louie Armstrong, to Owl City. He passed away in 2012 and I was given this from my grandmother recently since I discovered more stuff of his that I adored (Primarily his recipe list on another drive), and wanted to know more about him. However, it looks like some of these files are only saved as temporary, and are a long string of letters and numbers. I guess my question is

1. Is there a way to restore these files into what songs they were meant to be? I might have access to the computer the songs were originally downloaded on (unfortunately do not know the specs since it is in another location), so would that help or could I just use my own laptop (ASUS Viviobook 16 with an i7 intel core and a iRISxe graphics card) 2. Does anyone know where I can keep getting music for this play USB drive? I want to keep building it in his memory.

Edit: Seems like Reddit is being Reddit and I cannot respond to some of the questions. To answer the questions I can't reply to

**What size and file name are these?**

They are .tmp files with zero bytes in them. When I tried to open a few up they were blank (My guess is that they were placeholders before the transfer was complete possibly?). They have these weird names like 0jbD08 (as an example from the Britteny Spears "Blackout" folder)

**If they are zero bytes, what are you expecting to get out of this?**

Honestly? Not sure. Thought the names could be connected to something and I could transfer back that way. Or if there was a case of needing to connect it back to the original source or account (such as the old laptop or iTunes account if it was connected to that) in order to try and recover all of the missing songs. I'm not the best with technology, so I thought I would come and ask here if I am missing something. Can't exactly ask him since hes sitting on my grandmothers piano and I do not see my grandmother for another month for Thanksgivng break.
