Lenovo Yoga 13 (Ideapad) - Display Issue

Summary: I had to change out a bad motherboard on an Ideapad Yoga 13, so I bought one off of eBay from a reputable dealer.

What is happening is what I think others have called the ‘black screen of death’. Everything seems to be working fine except for the display and audio. The only way I can see the screen is if I output it via HDMI to an external monitor. The laptop display seems to be backlit but there is not image. The touch screen works because I can see it being manipulated on the external monitor when I interact with the laptop display. I can’t get into the BIOS screen because that won’t display on my external monitor. I’ve done a clean install of windows 8.1.

Theories: I don’t think the video adaptor is faulty, otherwise I wouldn’t see any display. The LCD seems to still be functional. There doesn’t seem to be any issues in the device manager. I’ve tried installing new drivers and rolling back drivers, still nothing.

I’m at my wits end to find out how to resolve this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
