Speakers (3.5mm) not being detected. Might be driver issue.
Hello,
I recently bought a 380 from AMD to replace my old 570 GTX card. With that comes the switch to AMD audio drivers included in the catylst manager.
Now the speakers worked for a while after this install so it may not directly be related to this but I feel the timing is too close to ignore.
Basically I logged in one day and the speakers weren't working. After a little poking around the cable and the speakers (logitech 2.1 setup) worked correctly. I checked the sound devices and saw that it was not present in playback devices but my headset was (Logitech G35). I figured it was something with the audio drivers so I uninstalled them. Still no speakers. I reinstalled them again thinking maybe it was a faulty installation. Nothing. I thought I would be clever since it was detecting USB devices and got a USB to 3.5mm adapter and the device manager sees the USB adapter but I still get no speaker options in my sound playback devices. I'm getting to the end of options to try with it and am sick of listening to everything through my headset.
I've tried to reinstall everything in the device manager that might be related. I'm positive the speakers and cable work fine. I've reinstalled the drivers multiple times. I've ran all system updates and even left it unplugged from the wall for a while to give the motherboard a little hard reset.
Anyone have any suggestions about where to look for the issue?
