Odd Screen Artifacts
So I'm having a really strange problem that I can't seem to nail down. The link is to pictures of the two types of crashes I'm having.

So what is happening is I'll be playing a game or trying to encode video and the screen will either lock up and the checkerboard artifacts appear, or it will just blank screen. After about 20 seconds of the screen doing that, the screen will go blank. The computer will remain on and not reboot but it definitely is crashed because audio will stop too. The most reliable way I have reproduced the problem is Minecraft or OBS. It happens with other games and software but not as consistently.
The event log usually says its an error with Unknown Module:00000... blah blah. Or it says "kernel security check failure". Although the event logger does not seem to pick up every crash.
Here is what I've done to try to nail down the problem:
1. Uninstalled, then reinstalled the drivers. Also tried rolling back the GPU driver. 2. Updated the BIOS 3. Did a fresh install of Windows. 4. Replace the power supply. It was old from an older build and I had been meaning to replace it anyway 5. Reseated the GPU and RAM 6. Chkdsk. No errors 7. Memtest 4 passes on both sticks, no errors 8. Prime95. No errors temp max 50C, no crashes 9. Furmark Stress Test. Ran for 2 hours. No errors or crashes. Temp max 78C
So none of these fixes and tests revealed any problems. I use HWinfo to monitor things and even logged a crash while playing minecraft. Nothing really stood out but maybe I just missed it. Nothing is overclocked, all the components are stock.
My current thinking is that the vRAM is bad. There aren't any good ways to test it. I can't find any good ways to test it or reliably reproduce the crash. I just think that when it tries to write onto bad parts of the vRAM it locks up and crashes. I just don't have a spare GPU sitting around and I don't want to buy a new one if the problem is something else.
Any help would be appreciated.
