kind of a support question about 2080ti prices now

So the 3070 is coming out in october with the "same" performance as the 2080ti for $500

which means the 2080ti prices/value should go down right? But on amazon 2080ti's are like $2000 as opposed to their old price of like $1200. Why?

Someone explain this please :)
