Trying to Clear Space in C Drive

As the title says, I want to clear some space out in my C Drive. I'm currently operating Windows 7 (looking to upgrade which is why I'm clearing space), I've run disk cleanup but that gives my less than a GB usually. I'm curious if there are any default programs I could delete that won't mess with my PC, any suggestions? Thanks in advance
