Intermittent wifi performance. Any/all advice appreciated

Older pc (specs in body below).

Me: retired IT, but service management. An IT generalist, know enough to be dangerous most days.

Situation: Wireless connection to cable modem/router drops out intermittently varying speedtests when connected from 80 Mb/sec (rarely) to 12 Mb/s (usually) to 1-3 Mb/s when things get bad before dropping out completely. My wife will stand next to me with her laptop and get 50-80 Mb/s no problem. This issue has haunted me for months. It only effects my pc and doesn't impact my wife's laptop which is also using wifi despite us having similar geography to router. Layout of the apartment precludes running cables from back of apartment to router in front, and the signal isn't actually bad given the concrete walls. Flairing this as a windows issue bc it seems to be somewhere between the keyboard and the wifi antenna

at first I thought it was my wifi card because I had a duff antenna on the card, so I replaced the card but that didn't solve the issue (but it did give me pc bluetooth capability, which I love).

Things I've tried: new wifi card updated to latest card driver removed or disabled almost any software that was running background processes run and re-run windows defender (no issues) updated to latest available win 10 version set group policy to disable setting aside bandwidth for windows updates
