Laptop sometimes doesn't boot up, sometimes gets stuck in automatic repair, when it does go into Windows, it freezes after a few minutes.

I'm helping a friend with his Asus FX505GT that's having trouble booting up. i5-9300H, 8 GB RAM, GTX 1650, 512GB NVMe SSD.

At first, the computer would start, keyboard lights, but the screen is black. I did a hard reboot and the screen turns on now.

But now it's running into other problems. Sometimes it would get stuck in automatic repair. Sometimes it would get to Windows but then freeze after a few minutes, forcing a restart.

I am able to go into the BIOS and I haven't noticed any problems there.

I've tried putting in new RAM. I've tried updating the BIOS. I've tried clearing CMOS. I thought it might have been a problem with the M.2 SSD or that SSD slot, I tried putting in a new SSD. Right now I'm trying to install Windows on an SSD in the SATA slot and it's been stuck at 9% for more than an hour now.

I'm out of ideas.
