Can a faulty SATA cable cause blue screens?
For a couple days I've been having constant blue screens. It started happening immediately after I mounted a new SSD and updated my NVIDIA drivers. So I uninstalled the driver's but still got blue screens. I got a fresh Install of windows, scanned the hardrive for corruption, and reinstalled drivers multiple times in an attempt to fix the issue. Nothing worked. Popped open my PC to check for dust. It was mostly clean but I had realized I never replaced my old SATA cable when I got the new SSD. I swapped cables and now I haven't gotten a blue screen in a couple hours. I even ran Driver Verifier which is supposed to stress the drivers and cause a blue screen so you can analyze the dump file. I tried multiple games with and without Driver Verifier on and now my PC doesn't blue screen. Was my SATA cable causing my blue screens? It's the only hardware that I swapped for this build and now my PC runs fine.
