PC still running, outputting a still image and unresponsive.

Hi, so this started off as a small problem and has become further complicated.

My machine is dual booting Windows 10 and Ubuntu 22.04, but in the past month or so I've been spending all my time on Ubuntu. Ubuntu and Windows are installed on two separate drives, windows on a SSD and Ubuntu on a HDD.

I recently set a setting on Ubuntu to have it suspend after 15 minutes of inactivity. This bug isn't consistent but when I move the mouse around to turn the screen back on after suspension in Ubuntu, and start inputting my password, the video output on the main monitor freezes. But on the second monitor video output is still fine, I can log in and see my mouse moving around. A few times this happened I didn't know that it was a problem with video output so over the last few days I've had to hard shut down my PC with the power button like five times now. By sixth time I caught on, unplugged the DP cable (from my GPU) and plugged it back in and the monitor came back to life. This issue only happened in Ubuntu.

Now I'm not sure if this is even related, but this next issue has now happened both in windows and Ubuntu, I'll be logged in and doing random stuff and everything freezes, I still see a picture (a still picture) and the computer is still running but not responding to mouse or keyboard inputs. I'm not sure if I hard shut down the PC one too many times or what. But I tried the same thing with these freezes and it seems not to be an issue with video output, because it doesn't start working again after unplugging the DP or HDMI cable to the second monitor. I don't know if audio stops or not, haven't been able to test that yet.

Yesterday after hard shutdown I said f it and tried to use windows which is when this whole thing started. The first time I booted windows it went into disk repair (even though this disk hadn't been used in weeks or more probably a month.) It did this whole boot cycle and finally I went back into the BIOS (which looked completely different) and for some reason the windows SSD was set to the top on the boot priority (where it should have been the Ubuntu HDD). Finally I was able to boot up Windows normally, ten mins in this crash or freeze happened, decided I'd leave windows alone again and today the crash/freeze happened on Ubuntu, here I am.

Don't know what's going on with this thing. Specs below:

CPU - Intel i7 9700k

GPU - NVIDIA RTX 3080

RAM - 32GB @ 3200MHz with XMP

PSU - Corsair 850w

I don't know what else to do. Gonna try and leave audio playing in the background to see if this is video or not. Other than that I don't know anything else. If someone could help that'd be great. Thanks.
