New Scope CC8
This equipment is a dream come true story, I have retired the 10” dobsonian and replaced it with a 8” classical Cassegrain win a Juwei 17, and a TC40 tripod with 160mm riser pier and I still need like 160 additional mm to take advantage of the complete surrounding horizon, so… yes its a planetary and visual equipment, I love stars, just watching them as well as some bright Planetary Nebulae, globular clusters and open clusters. I have used this one complete 45 minutes until the weather realized I had a new scope and it closed the cloud curtains to me, I had the chance to collimate it roughly with a Cheshire eyepiece and later with a collimation tool that draws circles on top of a de focused star and here I want to emphasize that I purchased those bob’s knobs, and I hate them, cold weather makes my fingers hurt by the friction and I have the stock with a hex wrench to collimate patiently so… my experience has been really cool, I saw Saturn 🪐 and Rigel with its native focal length of 2400mm. So I purchased this scope instead of the 9.25 Celestron with I believe the same fl but less light gathering but lighter, so keep some patience with me until I have some clear skies to report some images. Clear skies everyone no matter what you buy.
