Help with first telescope!

I've been looking at telescopes for a couple weeks now, and I can't make a decision for the life of me. I thought I could use some advice.

I'm mainly interested in viewing planets, comets and messier/deep space objects. At some point I want to get into astrophotography, though the necessary equipment is out of my spending limit. Basically, I'm trying to find a telescope in my price range that fits my current viewing needs *and* is great for astrophotography once I obtain the rest of the equipment. I realize that I might be better off upgrading to a better telescope later for that, though.

My price range is $200-350, possible a little more if it's worth it. I've been mainly considering either a 8-10" dobsonian or a 130mm reflector. I've been looking at GOTO capabilities, but if I'm going to get any sort of motorized tracking, it has to be good enough for astrophotography and I'm not sure GOTO is. I am interested in some sort of assisted tracking if possible, like Orion's intelliscope.

I'd also really like an EQ mount/platform, though I realize I'm already pretty picky for my price range.

Any suggestions?
