Who is responsible for Young Sheldon?

I just recently watched this series. While I did enjoy Big Bang, I recognized that it wasn't exactly the cream of the crop narratively. So I expected, especially with a title like "Young Sheldon", that it was going to be lowest common denominator Boomer trash, but it turned out to be such a touching and genuinely funny show.

So then to my question; who's responsible for this? Has Chuck Lorre secretly been about to create quality TV this while time? Or does more praise deserve to go to the writers and cast?
