DTF St. Louis... WTF and Why?
Every year, after the Emmys my wife and I look to watch a few of the "winners" that we haven't yet seen, and one of our choices after last week's broadcast was **DTF St. Louis**.
Man, this was a bad choice.
We gave up on the show after 2 1/2 episodes. We found it so brutal and sad, and could see by the way it was going, that it was going to be a rough watch throughout.
The show is billed as a "dark comedy", but we didn't find anything at all within the show to be funny. It was just dark.
I've since read the spoilers and how the show ultimately ends, which made us further support the decision to not continue.
Maybe is just me, or us as a couple, but I generally don't understand how people can "enjoy" shows and/or movies like this. What is truly the appeal?
Am I in the minority in the fact that I/we seriously disliked the show?
FWIW, I am middle aged (50/m) and could definitely relate with some of their struggles, most specifically, Clark, but definitely don't need to watch someone slowly throw their life away.
Please help me understand.
