Chasing Margarita With Tequila

I seem to remember going to a restaurant many years ago where they served their margaritas with a glass of tequila on the side. I've been doing this lately and think it's really damn good. After a sweet/sour sip, the sip of tequila just seems to mellow out the palate.

Does anybody else do this?
