Todd Howard and Dragonborn Bloodlines.
I am posting this directly for the sake of posterity, as the most likely source online of the following quote:
>*One upon a time, there were many Dragonborn, the gift passed down through the generations. Over time, though, the bloodlines faded along with their importance, until all that was left was the Septims. Your character in Skyrim, though, is from one of the lost lines of Dragonborn, maybe even the last one.*
To date, I have been unable to locate my copy of the publication I took this from, and as such am unable to provide a clear record of its existence. Due to the inability to verify it to a sufficient scholarly standard, it should be taken as hearsay and unreliable, and I am making this statement clear so that it may be referenced and used to counter the quote it's self.
I am saying this, because after a long weekend of critical examination, I am leaving the TES Lore community indefinitely. I have come to recognise that the setting has brought me more disappointment and anger since Oblivion, than it has joy. It is clear that I want something different for the setting that Bethesda, or the community these days, and I see no value in continuing with it.
I will not, however, leave without making a clear statement on my own erroneous contributions to the body of discussion and the spread of misinformation. Even if I do find the magazine in question, I'm unlikely to return to rescind this, so let it stand as a permanent correction of the quote.
