The Pillar of Thras, Martin’s sacrifice, and the Necromancer’s Moon

I’ve become fascinated with the coral towers of the Sload and the implications it has on Tower lore. The modern Pillar of the Thras and the Coral Tower that predated it allegedly function as portals to Oblivion, but following the destruction of the Amulet of King’s and Akatosh’s new covenant does this gateway to Oblivion still function?

If not, I speculate that the Sload could repurpose it or construct a new Tower of coral with a different destination. If the Sload now worship the Revenant then I believe it would be their goal to build a tower to reach the Necromancer’s moon. Does anyone else find this plausible and how do you think the consequences of Mehrunes’ invasion may have affected the Pillar of Thras?
