(SPOILERS) House Hlaalu across the multiverse!

**Some spoilers for** ***ESO:Deadlands*** **ahead.**

The latest ESO DLC largely revolves around the mysterious Realm of Fargrave, a strange dimensional nexus found in Oblivion where mortal and Daedra drawn from across the Planes live and trade side by side. A center for interdimensional trade, essentially.

One of the factions holding influence within Fargrave in the Second Era is the Saraathu Tong, an organization of mages (additional specializations were added over time) that were exiled from Morrowind by the Tribunal Temple and eventually came to reside in the strange Realm.

The Saraathu Tong has risen to considerable status within Fargrave, they've allegedly *"perfected transport across the Planes"* and they use this ability to gather knowledge and goods from across the Planes with a particular focus on magical artifacts and discoveries (some examples of items they deem of interest include Void Cloth or Xivilai Steel).

Through their activities, the Saraathu Tong have grown very affluent, said to control a considerable portion of the overall trade that goes on in the central city that serves as the center of commerce in Fargrave and to have both mortals (mercenaries, scholars, artisans, smiths) and Daedra in it's employ (and even accepting those they deem promising as members).

The Tong are considered a major player by the other main factions of Fargrave such as House Hexos and appear to be a fairly extensive organization with *"senior"* members and junior members of various specializations and ranks (for example a *"first tier scryer",* other specializations for example include poisoners in charge of crafting poisons and antidotes) and complex financial transactions tied to their trade.

Though they've gained great wealth and influence in their own right in their new home and a reputation in more than one Realm the Saraathu Tong still swear fealty to Great House Hlaalu, they have continued contact with Nirn and provide both wares and people there for the house they originated from.

While the great span of time between 2E 582 and 4E 201 makes it impossible to know what further developments came for the Saraathu Tong as time passed, the Tong's existence could potentially have interesting implications for the Hlaalu's status back on Nirn.

Do the Saraathu Tong retain their position in Fargrave and their fealty to the Hlaalu ? If so does that provide a potential opportunity for House Hlaalu's influence to be bolstered or perhaps even rebuilt with aid from Oblivion ? Could Hlaalu members have elected to relocate to Fargrave after their dismissal from the Grand Council (assuming the relationship persisted) ?

How would Oblivion's different time flow (allowing for centuries to pass on Nirn while decades pass in Oblivion as seen, for example, with Wretched Spire) or events like Martin's sacrifice impact travel to Mundus for such organizations ?

A somewhat unlikely prospect perhaps, but I thought it pretty interesting as one of the few known examples of major Tamrielic factions having an established/major presence in other Planes (for trade with mortals and even Daedra). Where there's business and opportunity to be found, House Hlaalu will be there it seems.
