K1 Browsing Performance/everyday use

I'm looking to replace an old Nexus 7 which has become unresponsive, and I'm wondering if it's worth getting a K1 now. The price is nice, and it seems like it has the specs and the form factor that I want, but since it's a couple years old and Nougat just got pushed I'm not sure if it would last me a long time or perform reliably and smoothly.

How does browsing feel, most of the time? Is it snappy and lag-free? Does the battery last a while when just reading webpages? The reviews on Amazon seem to be all over the place, so I'd love to hear from you guys on this!
