Curious the opinions here of Mehdi Hasan generally, and of his interview with Charlie.
He is among the most skilled debaters I’ve ever seen, a superb interviewer and I mostly agree with him substantively, but imagine I am a lot more progressive than many in this group. I enjoyed the interview, but it was also pretty superficial and clearly a book plug, would have enjoyed the deeper discourse between them.
I ask because a similarly progressive friend finds Mehdi slides too far to sophistry or ad hominem to often for cheap points. Interestingly, he addresses that exact issue in Charlie interview, awaiting my friend’s thoughts since he listened. Curious of all of yours!
