What’s the counter to grenade spam?

Genuine question. The context is basically I had a point break match where the entire enemy team used CL-40 and the MGL32 and it had to be the most miserable experience I had in this game.

I tried using APS but it just dies in 5 seconds, I tried going both sword light and ranged light but I just get grenaded at their feet and either I die first or we both die, then I tried defensive heavy but half of my load out just gets destroyed in seconds or the explosive damage passes through it making it practically useless.

The end is that we lost and I still don’t know what I could’ve done better. I know it’s also a skill issue on my part, but it doesn’t help that I am getting blasted from every direction without them even having to look at me. So I need so advice from y’all who knows how to counter it. Thank you.
